Teens Injured in Collision with Bus

Two Maine teens were injured when the driver of a 1997 Subaru Legacy crashed into the rear of a school bus. The bus had stopped on the side of the road to allow a kindergartener off the bus. The 17-year-old passenger of the Legacy was taken to the hospital with a broken arm and lacerations. The 19-year-old driver complained about pain. She was also taken to the hospital.

The accident occurred in the late afternoon near Waterboro. The bus had pulled over to the side of the road and had its turn signal on, but no flashing bus lights. Authorities have said the sun kept the teen from seeing the bus clearly.

When the Legacy hit the bus, it went beneath it. The accident caused the passenger side of the vehicle to collapse overt the seat. The passenger had to be extricated by emergency personnel.

If you or a loved one has been involved in a bus accident or auto accident, please contact an experienced personal injury lawyer in your area to discuss compensation you may be due.
