Denver Bus Accident Kills Two

A Regional Transportation District bus ran a red light and hit two vehicles on Saturday, April 3, in Denver, killing two people and injuring a dozen others. According to reports, the bus ran the red light, T-boned a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit and then hit a 1996 Ford truck. The truck was then pushed across the road and into a pole in front of a 7-11 convenience store.

Both the driver and passenger of the Rabbit were killed in the bus accident. The driver of the Ford truck was able to crawl out of a broken window. He is listed in serious condition. The rest of the injured were on the bus. This includes the bus driver.

The driver of the bus is a private contract worker who works for another company. This company has had three reported incidents in the last four years in which company drivers have run red lights and hit vehicles. Colorado law mandates that RTD use private companies to drive a fraction of their 1000 buses. The record for this particular company was listed as "average" with 1.4 preventable accidents per 100,000 miles.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a bus accident, please contact the Accident Lawyers Network to find an experienced personal injury lawyer in your area.
